Try Ice For Pain

Icing is an easy and effective way to treat pain due to inflammation and swelling.

Place the ice pack on the area where you are having pain.  Do not place the ice pack directly on the skin.  Place only a paper towel between the ice pack and the skin.  Make sure your hair or clothing isn’t in the way.  Yes, that makes it cold!  But, remember, that’s the idea.

Keep the ice on the area until the area is numb.  During the time it takes for the area to become numb, you will experience “CBAN”.

Cold          Burn          Ache          Numb          

Depending on the size of the area, most kids will experience numbness in 10 – 15 minutes, and most adults in 15 – 20 minutes.  Do not leave ice on for more than 20 minutes.  You may apply ice as frequently as once per hour.  Enjoy natural pain relief!
